Lockdown Love – Wedding at Guildford Manor Hotel

Guildford Manor is set just outside of Guildford Surrey towards the picturesque Newlands Corner. Chosen as the ideal location by Vicki and Sam from Guildford who could have their distant relatives all stay over, something which proved to be crucial since they booked long before any sign of a lockdown! In my wedding photography planning stages and on the wedding day I found the team at the venue to be great to deal with and very friendly.

The lockdown didn’t hamper Vicki and Sam’s love to marry in 2020. When the rules allowed for 30 guests they got to work and organised a intimate wedding ceremony at Guildford Manor. The wedding was still amazing for Vicki and Sam. They had their nearest and dearest around them, still had their ceremony in the venue of their choice, still had the speeches, the meal and of course the photos! A big party is to follow when there are no lockdown restrictions so they can invite all their friends and celebrate again. 

Having both prepared at the venue with their bridesmaids and groomsmen the couple became newlyweds in the beautiful light Bloomsbury room, adorned with vintage lanterns and sunflowers. 

A warm day for late September was ideal for the drinks reception on the patio. This mean the happy newly weds could take a walk in the landscape gardens of Guildford Manor and have a some relaxed creative wedding photographs while enjoying a little time together on their day.

Back to their guests for the wedding breakfast and of course the speeches. The rules meant no dancing for the guests but that wasn’t going to stop Vicki and Sam getting their first dance together!

To round off the day a quick little escape up the road to Newlands Corner for wedding photos and then back to the venue for drinks and farewells with their guests. Vicki and Sam certainly didn’t let lockdown hamper their love and fun; a brilliant wedding day with lots of love and laughter. Congratulations Vicki and Sam, I will see you again for the party!
