Summer Wedding at Norton Park Hotel Winchester

Wedding Story and Norton Park Hotel Winchester

Norton Park Hotel is a venue with so many opportunities to stage a wedding, in any way you would like it. Kelly and Richard turned it into their perfect wedding day. A summer wedding meant they had use of the 54 acres of beautiful parkland including the landscaped gardens and vast lawns with views across the pond and a country walk. They were able to use the three very different buildings in which to set each stage of their wedding, more of that as we go on. To kick things off here is a quick video to show the wedding day story…

Manor House Wedding - Norton Park

The bride, Kelly, and her bridesmaids prepared for the big day in the manor house. As well as a suite they had a separate room with facilities especially for the purpose. The groom, Richard, prepared in the courtyard of the modern hotel venue (OK, not going to lie, it was the bar. But that is the best place for groom prep!).

Kelly and Richard had said they didn’t feel the need for lots of preparation photos but did like my storytelling photography and how it made a good starting chapter to the days events. You can see a small selection of those opening scenes to the story by scrolling down and see what happened next! (spoiler: they said “I do!”).

Barn Wedding - Norton Park

The groom ready and waiting at the top of the aisle and the bride was on time! Richard and Kelly had the next stage of their wedding day  in another location at Norton Park Hotel: The barn was set for the wedding ceremony, dressed elegantly with a floral arch and tall vases. A packed house full of family and friends.
A small selection of photos from the ceremony follows…

Wedding Reception - Manor house at Norton Park, Winchester

After a dousing in confetti in an avenue of guests Kelly and Richard led the congregation to the manor house for a drinks reception on the lawn. The newly-weds then snuck off on a mini escape along the country walk, all within the venue grounds. For this part of the day I do not heavily pose the couple but just suggest places they might like to go within the venue for a little escape. New married love and emotions takes care of the rest meaning real life photos that they can look back on and remember their feelings for one another on this special day.
The guests were entertained by a musician while canapés and drinks were served and lawn games mostly played by the children according to the book of completely made-up rules. You’ll see some of this from the selection shown here, of course the couple have loads more photos from throughout the day but I can’t post them all here!
Everyone was back to the barn for the wedding breakfast and of course the all important speeches! I love to photograph all the reactions at the speeches as well as the speakers themselves.

Partytime!

The evening entertainment was held with in the more modern hotel events suites where a brilliant 10 piece soul band enabled the guests to party the night away. Love to photograph a lively party-time with different effects to set the mood and this lot didn’t disappoint,  keeping the dance floor packed until midnight. Richard and Kelly had pre-booked for me to cover their entire day which meant capturing their departure; a sparkler farewell from the guests.

Thanks for a brilliant wedding to Kelly and Richard, very enjoyable day and clearly loads of friendly guests all to support the happy newly-wed couple. Congratulations!
