With experience of photographing many weddings here I’d like to tell you all about this amazing West Sussex Wedding Venue. I have been a recommended photographer for Southdowns Manor now for 5 years and it is always a joy to photograph at this beautiful wedding venue . The location, the staff, the food; they all set the scene for a perfect wedding day.
The team that make Southdowns Manor work are simply brilliant. They are all very professional and dedicated to get you the wedding of your dreams, yet also very friendly throughout the whole process. That’s from the owner to the waiters, the wedding events managers to the ground-keepers. All brilliant friendly happy people that love making Southdowns Manor a fantastic venue for weddings. It has been a pleasure to get to know them over the years.
It is a very versatile venue meaning you can have just your reception there and your ceremony at a church, of which there are plentiful in surrounding local villages Or you can have your whole wedding day at Southdowns Manor, ceremony too.
Southdowns Manor Weddings
You can have an In our Outdoor Wedding ceremonies at Southdowns Manor. The team there will make every effort to make your wedding ceremony look amazing. If you have chosen to have it outside and the weather goes against you they can turn it round at very short notice. Regardless of where you choose your ceremony can be anything from 4 to 150 guests; the main banqueting hall is for larger weddings with the glass conservatory being best for intimate ceremonies. The recently replenished terraced garden is great for both small and large wedding ceremonies.
Bridal Preparation at Southdowns Manor
You may also wish to get ready before your wedding at Southdowns Manor. You will have a choice of rooms in which to prepare. A good idea is to use the purpose made Bridal Changing room for your hair and make up and a glass of fizz and then move away from your breakfast clutter to the honeymoon suite to put on your wedding dress. Your partner-to-be has a great choice of rooms to prepare too, and if it helps, aside from the honeymoon suite, suites 1 and 2 are the largest of the 15 rooms but all can work well. All these rooms are available for your guests to stay overnight and if you need to accommodate more guests there is a great range of hotels in the nearby villages.
Come Rain or Shine, a wedding venue for all seasons
I have photographed weddings all year round at Southdowns Manor. Summer receptions are fantastic out in the grounds, it is such a private venue, no other guests than those you know and barely any passing traffic except the odd tractor and sometimes a horse or two. It makes for a perfect back-drop for newly weds to escape and explore the grounds. Ideal for getting a little time together on your day and for a few quick photos. In just 20 mins we can get a huge variety of photos for you meaning you can get back to your guests and not miss out on any of the fun of your day.
In the winter or inclement days the venue still works exceptionally with the dedicated Sussex bar there especially for drinks receptions; it even has an open fire place to keep you and your guests cosy! You really are spoilt for choices when it comes to photos of the two of you come rain or shine.
Party at Southdowns Manor
Later in the day the banquet suite and for party time a huge dancefloor will easily cater for weddings from around 50-150 guests. The venue is just the right size venue for this many people, not seeming too large or too small. There are two large bars with the option of a third “pop up” theme bar meaning there are no big queues and everyone can enjoy the day.
Wedding Photography at Southdowns Manor
I love shooting weddings at southdowns manor because they are always perfect here. The venue is hidden away in the peaceful countryside of the South Downs, has well looked after gardens with pretty features and all close to the manor house. You also get the whole venue to yourselves meaning we don’t have to worry about anyone other than you and your guests.
This allows weddings at southdowns manor to be relaxed fun, the perfect canvas in which to capture all the natural moments. Ideal for me as I love to create wedding stories through candid moments, the real memories that show the love and laughter that make up the natural story I love to tell through photography.
