Winter Wedding – Pagham Church and Southdowns Manor

Southdowns Manor wedding for Heidi and David

It is winter already but love goes on!
Heidi and David are amazing, so dearly in love and such a wonderful couple. What follows is the highlights story of their day. Here is a little video that tells the story of their wedding day or read on to see the highlights at your own pace…

Bridal Preparation at Southdowns Manor

Bride Heidi and bridesmaid daughter prepared for the wedding day at Southdowns Manor, Totton, West Sussex.
Hair and make up in the purpose made bridal preparation room and then to the honeymoon  suite to put on her wedding dress. A nice calm morning and the excitement rose when the car as spotted outside ready to take Heidi to the church! The car being a 1958 Bentley S1, complete with a peaky blinders driver!
Meanwhile Groom David waited patiently at The Parish Church of St Thomas à Becket, in Pagham. I love the last photo in this set where he has spotted the bride arriving and made a dash to get to the front of the church!

Wedding Ceremoney at The Parish Church of St Thomas à Becket, Pagham

We begin the next phase of the story with Heidi arriving at the church and David waiting at the front (he got there quick!). Escorted through the church by her brother Heidi was taken to her Husband to be. Rev. Canon Colin Wood gave the ceremony and married them in this beautiful and somewhat hidden church in Pagham. After a quick pelting with confetti by the guests they made their escape in a 1925 Rolls Royce Phantom I with the rest of the bridal party in the Bentley.
Enjoy the views of the church in this set, all the little moments from their story. You can clearly see the love between these two, so happy to be together. I love the children s reactions too, I can remember being like that at weddings! And the little one diving in for a hug after the confetti!
Just as they were leaving I didn’t know they would kiss in that little window, sometimes I just have to make the composition and hope for the best. Was rewarded with a goodbye wave to make this part of the story complete too!

Southdowns Manor wedding Reception

A slightly larger set of photos here as the reception was longer part of the day. We start where we  left off with the cars; and I love all these photos of the bridal party arriving, loads of elegance and energy. There were some strong gusts of wind on Heidi and David’s wedding day, hence why the children are seen running in to the venue.  When Hiedi and David arrived they had a quick few moments to themselves with a walk around the gardens at Southdowns Manor.  Next going in to great the guests where we see lots of lovely reactions of laughter, hugs and smiles (told you it was a lovely wedding!).
The first speech was by Heidi’s daughter, Emma, and her second of the day after a reading in the ceremony.  The groom was next (and it was one of the most heart felt grooms speeches I have ever heard, great words David) followed of course by the best man who raised many laughs with cleverly worded stories.
(a few more words after the photos….)

The bride and groom looked perfect together for their first dance  and as soon as invited all the guests joined in. A truly beautiful moment from the newly-weds to be joined by all their loved ones for the first dance; an all round beautiful day full of love and laughter.
Congratulations to the newly-weds, Heidi and David, and thank you for inviting me to tell the story of your big day.
